The Master in English Language for International Trade (ELIT) official degree is geared towards combining academic research and professional training.

Many companies linked with the University have departments of international relations which are essential to their efficient working practices. The companies in this highly industrial province specialize both in national and international business. The market therefore requires highly skilled professionals who with their business ‘know-how’ and excellent command of languages are able to contribute effectively to the growth of the company.

In recent years, international firms have shown an interest in developing training courses with different communication skills, which are essential for the development of the functions carried out by people already working in these companies.

This is the fifth edition of the Master in English Language for International Trade (ELIT). It has been a remarkable success both with the number of enrolments and the subsequent job placements. This fact has lead the University Jaume I to take the next step and launch it as an official degree, updating its syllabus and adding new contents which will enhance the training of present and future professionals. To design the working plan of the new university degree (Master's Degree in English Language for International Trade (ELIT) of the Universitat Jaume I) we have continued working as we did in the past. Our method for the past five years has been to consult companies, as they can inform us about their needs and we, in turn, can prepare the future professionals to meet business requirements thus offering our students better opportunities for successful incorporation in companies offering jobs related to international trade.
